If you\u2019re also moved by<br>by this young talent, it would be wonderful to encourage her by leaving a comment.\u00a0<br>A warm brasa (hug) from Suriname,<br>Apana van Leeuwaarde<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&#8220;to the girl who survived&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>i know you.<br>i know how you curl into yourself when no one is looking.<br>how you bite your tongue until it bleeds,<br>because some pains are safer when they stay hidden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>i know how you carry it<br>the night that never ended.<br>the hands that never asked.<br>the silence you were forced to swallow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>i know the shame that isn&#8217;t yours but feels welded to your bones.<br>i know the nights you wanted to tear your skin off,<br>just to escape the memory of being touched without kindness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>i know the guilt.<br>i know the fury.<br>i know the moments when you hated your own body<br>for betraying you,<br>for surviving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>i know the way you thought healing meant forgetting,<br>and how cruel it felt when you couldn\u2019t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>but listen.<br>listen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>healing isn\u2019t forgetting.<br>healing is remembering<br>and still choosing to live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>healing is waking up on the worst days<br>and saying,<br>&#8220;i will stay.&#8221;<br>even when every part of you wants to disappear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>healing is crying so hard your ribs ache,<br>and still reaching for the next breath.<br>the next step.<br>the next hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>you are not broken beyond repair.<br>you never were.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>you are a wound<br>that chose to become a scar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>you are a scar<br>that chose to become a story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>you are a story<br>still being written<br>in hands trembling,<br>but unafraid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>they hurt you.<br>but they did not end you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>you are still here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>and you are<br>even now, even broken, even aching<br>beautiful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>not because you are untouched.<br>but because you touched the fire<br>and you lived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>and you still<br>choose<br>to love the ash-covered girl in the mirror.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>and that<br>is the bravest thing in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Esperanza T., age 15<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary><\/summary>\n<p><\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Zoals onze trouwe volgers weten is YES het gehele schooljaar intensief bezig met onze Empowerment projecten.
