I'm Modesty, one of the coaches in the YES team.
Because Dakini is on vacation, I was asked to represent YES (big shoes to fill) in the youth panel that met with Prime Minister Mark Rutte for an informal discussion about the future of Surinamese youth.

In a very pleasant atmosphere, I was able to brainstorm with the Prime Minister and his delegation together with six other young people. We had a brief but wide-ranging discussion about our ambitions, our shared history of slavery, and our expectations for cooperation between our countries. As a representative of YES, I naturally emphasized the importance of investing in YOUTH. You can imagine that it was quite exciting for me. I don't get an opportunity like this every day.

Fortunately, the Prime Minister shares YES's opinion and strongly believes that sustainable investment in the development of our young people is EXTREMELY important.

A great start to the renewed cooperation between the Netherlands and Suriname!
